"Dracula" drawings

This semester, I had the privelege of doing art for a production of "Dracula" held here in Utah Valley. The production included voice actors who did a performance based on Orson Welle's script for a radio production of "Dracula". During the performance, my drawings, along with the art of two other artists, were projected on a screen as the actors performed. It was a lot of fun to work on, but nevertheless, very time consuming. Here are some of the drawings I did.

I've had the very fortunate opportunity this semester to take figure drawing classes from the great Bob Barrett. The man is a genius not only with drawing and painting, but with explaining concepts in art. I really feel like I've made an improvement in my art over the little time that I've been taking from him, so I thought I'd post some of my latest figure drawings. Some of these are from Bob's class, while others are from outside of class.

At last........New Storyboards

Thanks to the great Ryan Woodward, I got a job with a director working on a short horror thriller. I was really excited for this because thriller is one of my favorite genres. Here are a few drawings I did to try and create the feel that the director was going for. I got a lot of inspiration from the films of the Coen brothers, such as "No Country for Old Men", and "The Man Who Wasn't There", along with some of the more dynamic shots from "Cowboy Bebop". I also tried incorporating a little bit of Stanley Kubrick, but I'm sure my good friend, Jared Greenleaf, could give me some pointers on how to be more like Kubrick. Lol

Graphic Novel project

These are a few drawings of the main character of a graphic novel that I have been commissioned to work on. A lot of these drawings are combinations of both Jay Hernandez, Dev Patel, and Zachary Quinto.

Mother's Day present

This is a watercolor of my brother and his baby girl, Haven. I painted this for my Mom to show that her good influence and nurturing of us has moved on to a new generation, and will affect many in the future. Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!! I love you!!!!!!

Here's some sketchbook stuff I've been doing in classes, and a few things from my trip to california with my dad. While there, we had the privilege of going to the Getty Villa near Malibu. They have a wide variety of Greek and Roman statues, so I grabbed my sketchbook and started doodling away. Some of these are also sketches I did from the works of one of my heroes: John Singer Sargent.
